Tea Party extremist Ted Cruz is refusing to find time for more debates/forums with Paul Sadler, but apparently he is okay with making early commitments to Washington lobbyists.

Without even looking at the specifics of any legislation and issues that the Senate will face over the next six years, Cruz has made commitments to special interest groups on K Street.

“He has become the very thing he criticized for a year when he ran against the Lt. Governor. He’s dodging debates. He’s dodging the media. He will not face the voters of Texas and he’s pledged his support to people outside the state of Texas,” said Sadler. “That’s not a United States Senator from Texas.” Continue reading

Sadler Opposes Eliminating the Department of Education

Paul Sadler, Democratic nominee for the United States Senate, pledged to push for continued funding for the schoolchildren of Texas. He expressed opposition to Ted Cruz’s radical plan that would eliminate the Department of Education, which includes cut to vital programs such as Federal Student Aid, the Council on Women and Girls, and the TEACH Campaign.


Ted Cruz wants to abolish the Department of Education,” said Sadler. “Let’s put it in a backdrop of what just happened in Texas. The Legislature just cut $5.2 billion out of public education. To eliminate the Dept. of Education federally would cost Texas between five and six billion dollars.

Sadler Defends Access to Contraceptive Care

Paul Sadler criticized Ted Cruz’s embrace of extreme policies that would restrict women’s access to safe and affordable contraceptive care. Sadler said he would work with members on both sides of the aisle to ensure that Texas women’s health is protected.
