Sadler Applauds Overturning of Voter ID Law

AUSTIN, Texas – Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Paul Sadler applauded today’s federal court ruling that nullifies the recently enacted Texas law that required Texans to show a photo ID in order to be eligible to vote:

“Today’s federal court ruling throwing out Texas’ onerous voter ID law is a great victory for the defenders of Texas liberty and those who hold dear the rights granted by the Texas Constitution.

“This court decision upholds a basic pillar of the Texas Constitution that all Texans who are over the age of 18 and who are registered cannot be denied the right to vote. This ruling overturns an inappropriate and divisive effort to disenfranchise some Texans of the rights granted to us all in the Texas Constitution.”
