Returning fierce independence and Texas integrity to the U.S. Senate
Let’s face it — from Austin to Washington, our political system is broken. The people of Texas deserve a government that works. Paul Sadler is running for the U.S. Senate because he knows our seat in that hallowed chamber doesn’t belong to one political party or to the other — it belongs to the people of Texas. It’s time to return fierce independence and Texas integrity to the United States Senate.
Creating jobs and rebuilding our economy
Paul Sadler knows real economic development means growing jobs that provide fair pay for an honest day’s work, and retirement security for middle class families. Our state needs a United States Senator who cares about delivering real results for our economy — not just scoring cheap political points. Paul believes new energy solutions, an educated workforce and investing in infrastructure are the keys to securing our nation’s economic future.
Supporting Texas public schools
Paul Sadler served the people of East Texas as a member of the state legislature from 1991 to 2002. He led the Texas House’s Committee on Public Education, and passed legislation to raise teacher pay three times and to create the teacher health insurance program. Paul knows what it takes to recruit and retain the best and brightest young people into our students’ classrooms. He also knows that he federal government should return much of its influence over Texas public schools to local school boards and Texas parents. The federal government should support our public schools, not run them.
Developing alternative and renewable energy sources
Since leaving the legislature, Paul has worked as a bipartisan advocate for clean, affordable and abundant wind energy in Texas and the surrounding states. Paul is a nationally recognized expert on alternative and renewable energy sources, and knows that America can — and must — reduce its dependence on Middle Eastern oil through clean, safe and affordable American energy solutions. Paul supports energy conservation, investment in renewable forms of energy, and getting the most out of American sources of energy — while protecting our environment.
Strengthening our national defense and honoring our service members
The soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines serving our country — many of them Texans — deserve a United States Senator who honors their service and sacrifice. Paul will fight to make sure the United States armed forces remain the best trained and most well-equipped in the world. He supports increased funding for the Veteran’s Administration, and job training to help our youngest veterans transition to the civilian workforce.
Protecting access to quality, affordable healthcare
Paul believes access to quality, affordable healthcare is a fundamental American value. Unlike his Republican opponents, Paul will oppose efforts to allow insurance companies to deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions and to drop policy-holders who get sick. And he’ll fight to protect the right of parents to keep their children insured until age 26. Paul Sadler will never play politics with women’s health care.
